Athens Day 1

Arrived this morning in Greece, after leaving Phoenix at 5:50am Sunday morning, laying over in JFK for a few hours. After checking in and crashing out we had dinner at the hotel with the other EDJ folks and wandered a bit near the hotel. We saw the Parliament building, the national gardens, the Zappeion, the temple of Zeus from the street, a view of the Acropolis, Syntagma square. The referendum was yesterday with a strong majority rejecting austerity measures. There didn't seem to be any disruption. The few regular people I spoke with at the hotel were resigned to nothing changing either way.
Some Athenian guards at our dinner. The hotel is amazing, The Grande Bretagne. Hitler stayed here while the Germans invaded Russia.
